big girls don't gossip

Here at BGDG, we are a tad bit obsessed with a popular CW show. Yep, one of our guilty pleasures is diving into the world of Serena, Blair, Dan, Chuck and the rest of the Upper East Side crew.

I'm not sure how this will turn out but if Hilary Duff jacks up my show this upcoming season...I'll still watch it, but I'll be angry all the way through. Thats right, ex-Disney pop tart Hilary Duff has signed on for several episodes of America's favorite show( well, really its me and my friends' favorite show, but thats close enough). Duff will be playing Olivia, a former child-star that enrolls in NYU in hopes of getting the real college experience and is roomed with Mrs. Reality Check herself, Vanessa. I also hear that Duffs character will serve as a love interest for my girl Serena...Uh-Oh....THIS should be interesting.

These are two sets that I put together based on my style icon, fictional character/real girl Serena Van Der Woodsen/Blake Lively. One may be real and one may only exist in the sexy world that is The Upper East Side,l but both have definite parallels in theit style. The first set is based on the classic Serena look with a blazer, racerback tank. KILLER bag, boots, and a long chain.

The second look is one thats a little different and not so classic Serena...this one is more like if Serena and Rihanna had a love child...

I just read J.Alyce's post about Target and their whackness (clearly they do not see that a GG inspired line would make them a CRAPLOAD of dollas) and I am very saddened by their choice not to move forward with the Anna Sui GG theme. However, below are are few sets from Polyvore that are Gossip Girl inspired. The great thing about Polyvore is you can actually click on an item you like and it will take you to the website of the retailer [[although sometimes the items are out of date or sold out]]. It's also great because you can get lots of inspirtation for your own Gossip Girl inspired outfits! So Polyvore away loves!

OK, now if you're like me at all then you're a Gossip Girl FANATIC...I am more of a Serena, but I have friends of all different types...Blairs, Vanessas, and Little J's. Ok well if if you are equally as CRAZY about the fashion (I confess, I'm a TOTAL Serena style stalker) then Target (or as I like to call it Tar-jay) should be ur new drug of choice come September. Fashion designer Anna Sui is milking the Target money machine by linking up with them and creating a GG fashion line that is only available in stores and on-line September 13- October 17 in only 250 select stores. So whether your a Queen B, a Serena, a Little J, or Vanessa your style will be represented! The styles are full of the characters signature looks...mini dresses, big bows, vests, jackets, boho threads, lace...you name it, its there. Now we can only hope that it is affordable because as much as I love my GG...we are still in a re-re( as in recession:) Uh-Oh Wal-Mart... WHATCHA GON DO NOW???
